Thacker Construction Group, LLC is a partnership of not just Father and Son but of skills and of vision.

Thacker Construction Group, LLC brings with it the skills of near 40 years of combined experience in construction, not just managing a job site and subcontractors, but of actually doing every job necessary to complete a home. From concrete, framing, windows and doors, plumbing, electrical, sheetrock and floors. Ben and Charles have personally done it all, countless times. That kind of personal knowledge is becoming more and more rare with builders and remodelers these days. With decades of experience fixing past builders’ and craftsmen’s mistakes and poor practices, Thacker Construction Group, LLC has an exceptional knowledge base of what practices do and do not last. They also believe that learning never stops. They strive to keep up with the new building science standards and combine that with the tested building practices that have stood the test of time.

The vision TCG has for Texarkana is one where buildings are beautiful again; to be able to get away from cookie cutter neighborhoods where profit is the main concern and instead have neighborhoods and houses with timeless character and beauty. The design trends of commercial and residential buildings often do not stand up to the beauty of times past. Interior spaces are commonly designed bland and basic. TCG hopes to be able to create the structure for spaces rather than rooms, homes rather than houses. TCG wants to partner with those in the Texarkana area who are looking to create a house worthy of the title “My Home.”

About Charles

Charles has been working in residential construction in the Texarkana area since 1997. While he started out in construction building custom cabinets and trim work, he quickly turned that into a business doing full-scale remodels. Charles is a man who loves stepping back and appreciating a job well done. When asked if he can do something he commonly responds, “If you have the time and the money, we can make it happen.” His many clients have put that to the test by having him build things as wild as duck blinds in cypress trees, purpose-built docks, high class hunting lodges, specialty cabinets and even podiums for pastors as far away as Mexico. If you have a unique project, chances are, Charles can figure it out.

His son, and now business partner, Ben has been working with him from the time he was old enough to swing a hammer. After earning his degree, Ben joined the Army and after a rigorous selection process, was selected to be a part of the prestigious 75th Ranger Regiment. Shortly after his time in the army, he went through another selection to be a part of an elite team of High Threat Security Consultants, working for elements of the government and serving overseas once again. Ben’s reliability and good reputation moved him quickly into roles of leadership and greater and greater responsibility.

When Ben’s first child was on the way, he turned his focus back home to Texarkana and on raising a family. Since Texarkana doesn’t need the technical skills that Ben had been honing over the previous years, he went back to his roots as a carpenter and builder. However, he brought with him the discipline, determination and mission focus that aided in his previous successes.
